Overo Corgis is also the home of the Texas Corgi Celebration.  Founded in 2003, the main goal of the Corgi Celebration was to bring the Corgi Fancy together to celebrate the breed and help raise money for Texas Corgi Rescue Programs.  The Corgi Fancy came from all over the United States to attend.  In 2011, over 360 people attended with their Corgis!  Events included a Rescue Parade, Herding Instinct Testing (sanctioned by PWCCA), AKC Performance demonstrations presented to the public to offer more information and participation in Agility, Herding, Obedience, Pet Therapy, Rally and Tracking.  AKC Canine Good Citizen Testing (CGC), Corgi Costume Contest, and other Corgi Contests were also held at this event.  Since 2005, Annual Corgi Celebration participants brought in over $45,000 through Party Entry, Herding Instinct Testing, Canine Good Citizen Testing, Silent Auction and Business Sponsorships.  Proceeds from each event were donated to a Texas based Corgi Rescue Program.  I feel it is the responsibility of all Corgi breeders to be involved in the rescuing, rehabilitating, and re-homing of Pembroke Welsh Corgis.  This was my contribution to such cause.
